It is hard to believe that it has now been a month since our dossier went to Colombia! The holidays were helpful in providing a much needed rest from the paper chase as well as distraction in visiting with family and friends. =)
I found myself (Sheila) thinking the other day about all the details that we will need to take care of between now and a referral, much less travel to Colombia. I am glad for the list of things that we would either like to or must accomplish between now and then. It struck me that there are so many things that we would like to get done before going to be joined with baby Derr that we just might not get it all done!
As of the end of the year, my shift changed to night turn at the hospital, so it has been a bit of an adjustment in getting used to the hours, when to sleep, etc. With a little over two weeks under my belt, I am beginning to feel better...For all of you night-turn junkies out there, I don't know how you have done this shift for so long!!!! Although, the longer I am on the shift, the less of a zombie I feel by day when I am awake! This is progress! Oh, the little things!
Dave is working on finishing the end-of-year report and 2008 budget for our church this month. I believe he is fitting some tax work for others in there as well. We had to laugh the other day when we both realized how busy January is for him...we had originally thought that since he was not taking another accounting course or so this semester that maybe he would be less busy...not the case, although this will slow once January passes.
In the meantime, we are both working on our Spanish and getting odds and ends done. We are almost finished with the floor in our dining room and then will be on to attacking some details in the kitchen. All told, we are doing well. We continue to look forward to receiving our referral, and, in the meantime, enjoy the blessing of time that we have with each other.

Hi Sheila!
Thanks for posting on my blog. We think Asher's pretty cute, too! Looking forward to seeing your family get your referral this year and see that pretty baby!
