Cerca de Ti (Near You)

Dave and I took a trip to his parents for part of the weekend. We were joined by a friend, Charlene. If you are still catching up on posts, Charlene has been sharing of her time and Spanish proficiency with us. On our two hour ride up and back, we had ample time for Spanish lessons, talk, and worship in Spanish. I am inserting one of the songs she shared with us...a rough translation follows. Enjoy and stand blessed this day!

Cerca de Ti (Near You) by Jesus Adrian Romero

If I decided to deny my faith
and not to trust Him,
I would have nowhere to go,
I would have nowhere to go.

If I despised in my heart,
The Grace that has saved me,
I would have nowhere to go,
I would have nowhere to go,

Convinced I am nothing without your love,
I would be without strength.
And without You my thirsty heart dies, is dried.

(Chorus)
Near You,
I want to be.
I don't want to move away from your presence.
Near you Jesus
I want to be.
I don't want to move away from your presence.

CONGRATULATIONS! That is so exciting. I never realized Dave was Colombian so all along I have been lamenting for you the long wait. I am so so happy for you! This summer, yay! And I loved the song, it certainly was a good reminder to me to trust and keep up the faith. I really am so thrilled for you both and can't wait to see your little one come into your family.

Much love,
Sherri

Sherri,

That is so super that Charlene is in your lives and helping you all to practice your espanol. If you were closer I'd help you out as well! I've got some great little bilingual board books that work great for common words. The author is Gladys Rosa-Mendoza, I highly recommend those books!

Soon enough my friend we will hear G R E A T news! I am beyond excited for you guys and continue to pray for you guys every day!

Saludos y a dios!
