19 Days and Counting!

Oh my, there is so much to happening! In the last week or so, we have found out that a handful of families (CHI and non-CHI) will be in Colombia during our time there! Oh happy day! The possibility of meeting up with folks that we have only known through blogger, email, and yahoogroup land is exciting! We were additionally tipped off to another family who are expecting a referral through Pereira! (Thanks Wendi!) While they have not received their referral yet, they have been told that it should be any day now and were advised at the end of March to begin updating their needed travel paperwork! A very good sign that their referral is on the horizon!

If you aren't a part of the blog stalking world, you are probably not up to date on the Adelman's adoption progress. This is the family that we invited prayer late last week for their own referral. Well, they are now proud to announce the arrival of their own referral, and what a beautiful hija she is! This is such an amazing answer to prayer! A link to their blog is in the lower right hand corner of our own...you should check their little princess out! Equally exciting news is that we will all be traveling to Colombia the same day! No way, I can hardly believe it! It will be wonderful to follow along as they meet their daughter, Alejandra, on April 28th!

I find myself wondering these days what life is like through the eyes of our little guy! How does he see his world? In our referral, we received a rough 'schedule' of what his day would typically look like, and a busy toddler he is! It sounds like he has an amazing foster mother who works hard to keep up with him as well! We have been well advised that cars and balls are very important to Jonatán (note to self, don't leave home without either! LOL). Yesterday we recieved by mail the baby backpack that we ordered; oh how fun...hopefully Jona will think the same...eeehhh!

On the extended family front, Dave's Mom remains in the hospital. This second stroke affected her overall strength and equilibrium. When Dave spoke with his Dad last, the main concern was that she may not have the stamina to do rehab. We continue to pray for her and recovery from the weakness and dizziness that she is experiencing right now, and will hopefully know more by the weekend about the direction they will be taking with her care as well as what continued testing may have revealed with all of the digestive problems she has been experiencing. We are reminded daily of God's grace and care in the life of both of our parents, and have been reminded quite frequently of God's un-changing presence and work in their lives. These reminders through family and friends have helped us to be at peace, to keep our eyes on the expectation of our first son and all that God has been doing in our lives up to this point, as well as what God is leading us to as a family of three! So, "thankyou" to all of you who have shared words of encouragement, hope, and prayer. They have meant much to us as the last couple of days have felt bitter-sweet.

Love the name meaning on the side bar...what a little awesome warrior of God you have there! I love the meaning of Andres! I remind myself of that all the time as I pray over Andrew, our Andres! A strong leader...he is...

I can't wait to see how God unites you with your family. And it will be just as exciting to keep up with all the rest of the CHI family! That is awesome that so many people will be united with their families at once...as if God has opened the floodgates in 2008!!! Woohoo!

I will continue to pray for your MIL. Sometimes, we just have to rest knowing people are in the father's hands, and really that's the best place to be...easier said than done...will be praying for better health and a quick return from Colombia!

I am so excited for you both. I can't believe how many families will be in Colombia at the same time! Also, thank you for the wonderful comments you have left on the blog, the comments are so uplifting. Well, enjoy every moment as you prepare and then finally meet your little prince!
See you in Colombia...I hope.

As if it weren't exciting enough to be ready to travel but to be able to meet up with other families there too is an added blessing! Our prayers are with you all as you travel!
