Gotcha Day Set!

WOW!!! I can't even begin to tell you how exciting this week has been! What a blessing to finally have a name, picture, and information on the son who we will soon meet. It has given our wait all the more meaning.

Late Thursday, we found out that we will be meeting Jonatán Andrés on April 29th at 11:00 a.m.! We also received a mailing from CHI which included all the original documents we had previously received translated and by email. This mailing did include a few more pictures for us to cherish and take in during the remainder of our wait. Here is one that is especially charming (I believe the original picture we posted was cropped from this one):

We have been making travel arrangments this weekend, and should have those solidified by tomorrow. It is looking as though we will fly out sometime Saturday, April 26th to Bogota. And as for the remainder of our trip, CHI will arrange for our in-country travel to Pereira. I would imagine we would know more about this the week we leave.

All told, we are doing very well. David and I took some time to go shopping for Jonatán on Friday and then a friend joined me yesterday for more of the same. So fun! Now that we know we are expecting a boy, I will be painting the trim in Jonatán's room today! (Don't worry, Debi, the pictures are coming! I am a bit of a perfectionist...gotta have it all done for the reveal!)

We will continue to pray for all of you in the blogger world who continue to await your own referrals. We know what the wait and unknowing can be like...may the Lord bless you this day with much peace and reassurance...in knowing that He too is at work in all of this. His ways are perfect, even if we do not understand them fully now.

We have friends who had submitted their dossier prior to us. They, also, are a Colombian family and are still awaiting a referral for a son or daughter in the same age category as us. Both our paperwork and theirs ended up with two different persons in the ICBF; our referral came within the time-frame a Colombian family could normally expect...theirs has not. While we are deeply excited in our own referral, we are sad that their wait continues. We had originally hoped for the possibility of being in Colombia together. In sharing this, I am inviting prayer for they and their precious son or daughter in the wait. Only the Lord knows who that child is and all the feelings that are currently apart of these soon-to-be parents' hearts. Their names are Mark and Debi; they also are a part of the CHI family. (And, Mark and Debi, if you read this...which I know you will...we love you both and eagerly await with you the son or daughter the Lord is preparing to join you in becoming a forever family! You are a very special couple and will be amazing parents!)
