We have been eagerly (or anxiously) awaiting news of our social worker and psychologist connecting and completing their portion of the interview process for our psychological report...and finally, the email came today! Praise God for this! Now Dave and I are off to meeting with the psychologist ourselves. Our appointed meeting will be next Friday at noon, EST. The meeting should take about an hour. We are looking forward to this and have been told that Dr. Miranda is quite a neat woman; she also is an adoptive parent through Colombia.
Our I-171H has yet to arrive, although we eagerly check the mail each day...hoping and praying for that part of our process to also be completed. After all the craziness through August/September with some confusion surrounding our I600A, where to send it and an accidental submission of 2 I600A's, it will be nice to be done with that portion of our adoptive process (at least for now).=)
With the more recent change in weather, I have found myself struggling to get things done around the house. It has been more a challenge at work, though. To be quite honest, I love the fall, look forward to the changing fall colors, the crispness in the air, and opportunities to get out and hike some of our local trails. This year has been a bit too busy for that so far, and I am missing it! I am thankful for walks through a local park. With the park being closer, I have been able to manage getting out with Fawn for occasional walks/runs before and after work. While I miss the hiking, these walks have been a good substitute. These walks have also served to preserve and nurture my relationship with Christ during a very busy season.
Up to this point, I had not revealed to many family and friends that I had entered a marathon for the month of November...partly because I was afraid that I may not follow through with the training that it would require. I am relieved to say that I have been able to keep up with a fairly decent training schedule. My goal, at this point, is to simply complete it. A good friend from college will be joining me in this challenge come Sunday, November 11th. Actually, this has been a great way to pass some of the time in waiting for the slower parts of our adoption process. I definitely would recommend it to anyone who is looking to find some constructive ways to pass the time. (Not only great for your health and preparing for a different pace in life after adoption, but is also a great way to step away from the busyness of life to connect with God and do some internal journeying!)
Well, the hour is late, and I could go on for a long time. I was excited to post some of our more recent developments, and look forward to posting more progress in the coming month.
