Great News!

Well, Dave and I have had a pretty fun month of traveling around to see friends and family. We got to see my parents and sister out in Cranberry, PA as well as Dave's siblings in Toronto. We even had an opportunity to visit Niagara Falls for our 6th year anniversary! Fun, fun!

Niagara Falls was a georgeous place to visit; I only wish that we had had longer to spend. =( It was just as great to visit our Canadian relatives! (Hello to all of you who read this!) We miss you and look forward to another visit in the future! Until then, we are posting a special 'hello' to all of our nieces and nephews that we got to visit in the month of October: Taylor, Jayden, Austin, Hunter, and Marshall! What a blessing you are to us! You teach us much about what it will be like to be parents!

When we returned to Pennsylvania after our tour around the area, we found that David's birth certificate had arrived! We had been anticipating these copies, but had no idea how long they would take to come. Almost 8 weeks later, and we have them! Both of us were all the more eager then to see that we received our Home Study in hand, and it turns out that we received the 2 copies of this today by mail!!!! What a HUGE milestone! And, what a praise God!

We continue to wait for our personality/psychological assessment from the Children's Hope International psychologist that we are working with. We have been assured that this should not take much longer! Yippy Skippy!

In the meantime, our social worker sent a copy of our home study to immigration to complete the orphan visa process that we had begun back in the summer. In the coming weeks, we should receive a copy of what is called the I-171H, which is a rather important document...which contains only 1 sentence, or so we are told! We have also been advised that some families actually have thrown these papers away, not realizing what they really were. We will be careful not to make that same mistake.

We are also in the process of working on the house again...I am planning to do some priming and painting this weekend, although I need to take some time for a Pampered Chef party that I have on Saturday.

All told, we are doing well and continue to pray for the son or daughter that will soon join our family! We found a wonderful quote recently that I decided to get made into a giant sized 'poem' for one of the walls in the nursery we are putting together:

Not flesh of my flesh, Nor bone of my bone,
But still miraculously my own.
Never forget for a single minute,
You didn't grow under my heart - but in it.
