Super Quick Check-In

To say that all is well! It is 6 a.m. Bogota time and we are getting ready to leave for the airport! So far as we can tell, our flight is on time and we will see everyone tonight at 7:30 after a connection through Atlanta!

About Us

Hello and welcome to our blog! My husband, David, and I use this blog as a way to keep family and friends up to date on our family. In 2008 we completed the adoption of our first child, Jonatan, in Colombia!

Adoption has always been a part of our thinking in building a family. Additionally, Dave was born and raised in Sincelejo, Colombia for the first eight years of his life. As a couple, we enjoy a mutual love for Christ, the outdoors, children, and multicultural experiences!

4.29.08 Meet our son in Pereira!
4.26.08 Travel to Colombia
3.31.08 Received a Referral from Pereira Colombia! (The actual referral was only a week after our regional assignment as the date on the cover letter is 3.06.08!!!!)
2.29.08 Received a Regional Assignment to Pereira, Risaralda
2.25.08 Recieved ICBF Approval to Adopt A Son/Daughter, 0-24 Months
1.28.08 Sent David's Colombian Birth Certificate
1.25.08 Receive Email Requesting David's Colombian Birth Certificate
1.10-15.08 Translated Dossier is Delivered to ICBF in Colombia
12.13.07 Sent Dossier to CHI then Colombia for Translation
12.00.07 Update Medical Reports & Drive to Washington, D.C. to Get a DS-1350 Copy of David's Birth Certificate Apostilled by the U.S. Dept. of State
11.00.07 Receive I171H & Psychological Report
10.16.07 Receive Official Home Study; Copy Goes to USCIS
10.00.07 Receive Confirmation that Survey's are Scored & Have Over-Phone Interview
9.00.07 Complete Psychological Survey (500 Some Questions!!!!)
8.13.07 Get Fingerprinted for I-600A Application and Send a Separate Set of Fingerprints to FBI
8.7.07 Submit Request to US Dept. of State for 3 Copies of David's Birth Certificate
8.3.07 Complete Home Study Visit with Social Worker
7.28.07 Submit I-600A to USCIS
7.27.07 Submit Request for Psychological Review
7.17.07 Submit Autobiographies to Social Worker for Home Study
6.26.07 Return Our Adoption Agreement to CHI
6.18.07 CHI Approves Us to Adopt
4.14.07 Submitted CHI Application for Colombia Program and AIP Application for Home Study
