Ahhhh Bogota!

We arrived in Bogota around 8:00 this morning! Actually, Dave and I got up around 5:00 a.m., got all of our stuff together, and then got Jonatan up and ready. Surprisingly, he was a great sport about the hour. Ok, he wasn't all fun and games, but he wasn't putting up a fight either. He even enjoyed the plane ride and fell asleep for a short bit of time.

Zuetana is now our home away from home...you can check out their website at www.zuetana.com From their website: "Who we are: Zuetana means 'home' in the language of the Muiscas, aboriginal inhabitants of this region. The use of this name, Zuetana, reflects our wish to become ambassadors of our country." They actually 'specialize' in housing for adoptive families. In arriving we have already met two families from Germany, and understand that there are two other families here in addition to ourselves.

There was a bit of a misunderstanding on when we would be arriving, so Zuetana was surprised when Andres dropped us off at their doorstep this morning. They were full and had a family leaving at 1 p.m. So we moved into their room once it is ready. In the meantime, we took a walk around the area and discovered that we are just blocks from where we previously stayed (at El Refugio) when we first arrived. Our walk was productive in helping Jonatan to get some rest as he fell asleep in Dave's arms.

Today will be a rest day and tomorrow we plan to do some more walking around town and possibly go over to a market that happens each Sunday. We really haven't discussed much else beyond trying to get together with a couple of CHI families over at El Refugio.

Hi! It seems as though your days have been long, fun-filled and busy. A couple of quiet days are probably a welcome relief. I'm so pleased people have been so kind and helpful to the three of you. Praying for your safe return.
Love,
MOM

Hi Sheila!
we got your email but I can't respond to emails on my computer so I'm posting here. We have to go to the embassy on Monday so we will also be gone in the morning. Tomorrow we are thinking of going the La Fontana Bazaar which is next to Unicentro. We haven't heard of any excursions so far and I don't think that Lucia is planning any for this weekend. But, sometimes we get a call in the morning and we end up going. So if you guys want we can meet up tomorrow afternoon for ice cream or something? OR we can meet on Monday afternoon for ice cream? The number for our place is 214-1128 so give us a call.

Back to Bogota already. How exciting! It seems like I just read you made it to Colombia. You'll be home before you know it. Your son is a handsome little man. I am really happy to see things are going good.
