This evening, we packed, said goodbye to our interpreter, Mauricio, and his girlfriend, and went out to eat with Jose and his wife to celebrate. Mauricio had brought a bag of empanadas for Jonatan as a going away present! So sweet and thoughtful! Our dinner with Jose and his wife was at a quaint downtown arepa restaurant! It was pretty neat! They even had curb service, literally! Folks would drive up, ask for a menu, order, get their food and then they were on their way...the unique thing about this is that there was a sidewalk full of tables and pedestrians between the store and vehicles pulling up to order. Pretty cool!
Another brief side note...while waiting for Jonatan's passport, we went over to one of the Plazas (Malls) and got Mimos (ice cream shoppe)...so, Dave forgot to tell me that the icecream that he and Mauricio were ordering was not vanilla...it was a Passion Fruit of sorts...well, I had ordered something like a blizzard with something like oreo cookies...needless to say, my first bite was a bit interesting...passion fruit y chocolate and creme cookie...hmmm...don't think I will do that combo again...it was interesting to try though.
Anyway, here are a few pics from today...unfortunately, we have been so busy with getting things squared away here that we have not had much time to take that many pictures...we will be sure to take more in Bogota in the upcoming few days. I need to go to bed now as it is 11:30 p.m. in Colombia and we need to get up at 5 a.m.!!!!!

On to Bogota! I hope you have a nice stay there. And you'll have tomorrow before the rush of activity. I'll pray for Jonatan and you both as all these changes take place rapidly. I was thinking too, you're bound for the USA now, will you have to change the name of your blog?!
